Slovenian government adopts decision to implement border control checks for travellers between Italy and Slovenia
The border between Slovenia and Italy will remain open, but Slovenia will carry out controls at six checkpoints at the border area with Italy. The controls will be executed at the following road border crossings: Rateče, Robič, Vrtojba, Fernetiči, Škofije and Krvavi potok. Other road border crossings with Italy will be closed.
There are no restrictions for Slovenian citizens to enter the Republic of Slovenia.
Admission for foreign nationals who do not have permanent or temporary residency permit in Slovenia is permitted if they submit a certificate in Slovenian, English or Italian that they are not infected with the Covid-19 virus. If a foreign citizen does not have this certificate, he/she is allowed to enter the Republic of Slovenia if the body temperature is below 37.5 degrees Celsius, or he/she shows no signs of respiratory disease (cough, sneezing, shortness of breath).
The order will take effect on March 11 2020 at 6pm.
